Most seniors that come to Melissa Hathaway Photography have their senior portraits taken anytime starting at the end of their Junior year (May-ish) through the summer before their senior year starts. Once school starts, time constraints are great and it becomes more difficult with your schedule to arrange a time that will work best for you. Most yearbook deadlines are by October or November. However, many seniors come to us throughout the year. Sessions fill quickly starting in April/May, so contact us today! Session fees are due in full at the time of booking and are non-refundable.

This is obviously a very important question & usually most people’s first question. We hope in your search for the ‘right’ senior portrait photographer, that you are taking many things into consideration, including style & right fit. We charge a standard session fee for each type of session that we offer. Please see our  SESSION offerings in our ‘INVESTMENT’ section for details on each session type. Session fees include photographer’s time and talent prior to the shoot, during the shoot and after the shoot. Much thought is put into planning your photo session and creating images that truly reflect ‘YOU’. A la carte print prices start @ $75. Seniors that come to Melissa Hathaway Photography can expect a different experience resulting in unique images. You only get to have your senior photos taken once. We want this experience to be one that you will remember. Whether you choose our 45 minute in studio only session or choose our 3 hour session at a location of your choice, we will work with you to ensure an indivudalized experience just for you! Think of our personalized design consultations as an opportunity to create our own unique ad campaign. We will work with you to design the best senior portrait images and experience that you’ll remember for years to come.

You can either BOOK ONLINE or call the studio 503.770.0647 to book your session. Once your session is booked and session fees are paid, you will receive an email with our Session Guide chock full of information on what to expect and suggestions for clothing. You will receive this along with an online questionnaire to help us get to know you and plan for a session that will create the ‘look’ just for you. In addition, we will schedule your design consultation where we will plan in more detail what we will create together during your session.

The session guide will provide you with all kinds of suggestions on what to wear from clothing, shoes to accessories. We don’t limit the number of outfits in a session. It’s really up to you and how many outfits we can manage in your allotted time.

Absolutely! Moms and dads are welcome to come along to observe. You are also welcome to bring along significant others or friends. Most of all, remember, that this time is just for you! So, plan accordingly and expect to have a good time!

After your session, we will schedule a viewing/ordering session before you leave. You will also receive some homework to help you plan for your portrait ordering session. Many times people are so excited about seeing their photos that they forget where they’d like to display their portrait art and who/what they need to order for. Ordering sessions are typically scheduled within 7-10 business days from your session date. Ordering sessions are scheduled for 2 hours. And yes, even the best prepared clients end up taking the entire 2 hours. During your ordering session, you will choose your prints and products that you wish to purchase. Due to the custom nature of photography products, print/product orders are due in full at the time of ordering. Check/Cash preferred, Visa/Mastcard Accepted.
